The Best Doughnuts in Melbourne

Doughboys Doughnuts MelbourneI can honestly say that Melbourne has it’s fair share of delicious doughnuts that go well beyond the quality of Krispy Kreme. In Melbourne, you will find an abundance of artisan and hand forged doughnuts with real passion behind them and extensive research into flavours.

I have spent the few month ‘testing’ various doughnut venues around Melbourne and narrowed it down to my favourite picks to give you The Best Doughnuts in Melbourne. Mmmmmmm Doughnuts….

Doughboys Doughnuts Melbourne

🍩 Doughboys Donuts

Hand forged doughnuts that go well beyond the classic doughnuts. The doughnuts are freshly glazed in front of your eyes and include flavours peanut butter and key lime pie. There are about 30 varieties of doughnuts, with a rotating selection of 10 available at any given time. The Bourke St venue also serves speciality coffee, perfect for doughnut dunking.

🍩 Bistro Morgan

$5.50 each | Box of 6 – $30

Artisan doughnuts created in small batches for a large following. These doughnuts are made fresh each morning using natural ingredients to ensure freshness and quality. Bistro Morgan has a rotating menu of 9 signature flavours, plus every week they produce two special limited addition flavours. Bistro Morgan Doughnuts are well known for their flavoured syringes, which you can inject in your doughnut for extra flavour. Amazingly Bistro Morgan was started by a 16-year-old boy that now juggles school with one of the most successful doughnut businesses in Melbourne.

Coffee and donuts. Shortstop focuses on this perfect combination with simple doughnuts and quality coffee. The doughnuts are made fresh on site using high-quality natural ingredients and the coffee is sourced from the best speciality roasters. The venue is tucked away down a typical Melbourne laneway with a gorgeous small but open.

Doughnut Time

🍩 Doughnut Time

5 Degraves St, Melbourne 3000
377 Brunswick St, Fitrzoy 3065
178 Chapel St, Windsor 3181
$6.70 each. Box of 6 – $38

Probably one of the most well known Doughnut venues is Doughnut Time. Starting in Brisbane Doughnut Time has spread out to more than 20 locations across Australia. Doughnut time menu is constantly expanding and also includes vegan doughnuts. Doughnut Time is not my favourite on this list but it by far has the most locations and also a loyalty program where every ninth doughnut is free.

Donut Shop Coffee & Donuts

🍩  Donut Shop Coffee & Donuts

130 Gertrude St
Fitzroy, 3065
$4-5 each

Donut Shop Coffee & Donuts is a small hole in the wall kinda venue, fitting no more than eight people. They stock anything from classic cinnamon to a Pina Colada Brulee flavour. A user on yelp described these doughnuts like “eating a cloud” and I can’t think of any better description – these doughnuts are that fluffy and sweet, that you want to have just one too many. You can wash your doughnut down with coffee, iced coffee, ginger beer or cola.

These all look amazing! I love sweets so much, usually the price doesn’t deter me from getting them. The doughnuts you’ve bought are so unique and different, eating a cloud sounds amazing haha xx

Sending light & love your way,
